Adapted from Larry McMurtry's autobiographical novel, and Quentin Tarantino's favorite book. In 1969 aspiring writer Danny Deck goes to Eeyore's birthday party at Professor Godwin's house in Austin, Texas. On the morning after the party Danny meets Godwin's beautiful girlfriend Sally. He falls in love with her at first sight and complications ensue because "a guest never robs his host."
